Guy Martin To Make First International Road Racing Appearance At Vauxhall International North West 200 On May 7th -13th

Guy Martin will make his first international road racing appearance on the new Honda Fireblade at the 2017 Vauxhall North West 200.

Fans will have the first chance to see the truck mechanic come television star take on local heroes Alastair Seeley and Michael Dunlop plus Ian Hutchinson, Peter Hickman and John McGuinness at Portrush on May 7th -13th.

The popular Lincolnshire star stunned the road racing world with his announcement this week that he is to return to the sport with the Honda Racing squad after missing the 2016 season. Guy will race a Superbike and Superstock version of the new CBR1000RR SP2 Fireblade at the North West alongside six times NW200 winner and new teammate, John McGuinness.

Guy has enjoyed six podium finishes since making his debut on the famous 8.9 mile Triangle seaside circuit in 2004 but he has never stood on the top step of a North West 200 rostrum. He will be hoping his move to Honda from the Moneymore based TAS Racing/Tyco BMW team will help bring him that breakthrough victory.

“We are delighted that Guy Martin will be back on the grid at the Vauxhall International North West 200 in May.” Event Director, Mervyn Whyte said.

“Guy is a huge favourite with road racing fans and the public in general and I am sure a lot of people will want to see how he gets on on the new Honda superbike against the likes of Alastair Seeley, Michael Dunlop and Ian Hutchinson who all won races at last year’s North West. It is a very exciting prospect!”
